Notification System

  • Dec. 7th, 2009 at 1:15 PM
Hey Guys,

Unfortunately with our last release, and its instability, we were forced to roll back releases. Unfortunately in doing so, it would seem that our notification system has been broken somehow. Our engineers are working on this issue as quickly as possible. We hope to have a patch within the next day, so we can deploy our code and fix the notification system at the same time. Please *bear* with us ;)

Currently all notifications are being queued up so they can be processed as soon as the fix is pushed and verified to be working correctly.

Thank you,

Unbinned hair not working properly

  • Dec. 7th, 2009 at 9:48 AM
I hope this is a stupid question with an easy fix. I'm having trouble un-binning custom hairs (pinks wrongly binned as red, etc). Everything shows up in Bodyshop, with varying degrees of usability, but almost none of it appears where it should in CAS. The tealdeer version:

-Hairs binned back to custom are available* everywhere in Bodyshop. In CAS, they only appear in the elder custom bin (if an elder version is available).
--*Or rather, they show up, but are unselectable for all ages in BS - clicking one jumps to a random black/grey hair.
--When making an elder sim in CAS and choosing one of the hairs, then switching back to any other age group, the hair stays set, but still isn't visible in the non-elder bins.

-Three (of the set I'm working with) DO show as adult hair in CAS. These few are also selectable in BS. I have no idea how I worked this magic. They have family id=hairtone id, but this does not work for all hairs.

-To un-bin hairs, I at first just added some gibberish to the hairtone line (like 9999666b + all the 0s), then I tried using Wardrobe Wrangler's random family ids, and on some I tried recycling their BS-generated family ids as the hairtone. None of this has worked, although all of it keeps the hair visible in BS. I'm using SimPE for all of this.

-Never-binned custom hair (and colour-binned normal hair) works fine in all cases.

I have no idea if this is a new thing since an ep addition or if it's always been a problem, since I don't think I've used a re-custom'd hair on a CAS sim before. I've definitely have had the snap-to-black problem since forever.

Google/various forums and faqs have been no help, as they're about going in the opposite binning direction, and that I can do in my sleep. What can I do to make these hairs actually functional? I've just discovered I CAN export all of these from BS as new projects, strangely enough, but there has got to be a less time-consuming way to do this, right? ...Right?

(And if that wasn't tealdeer enough, one more hair question. Is there any way to make sims' heads not bend down after deleting a hair through CAS?)

NEW STORY :: Damaged Goods

  • Dec. 5th, 2009 at 9:04 PM

Hey everyone! I've started a new story, and chapter one can be found by clicking *HERE*
I've just bought freetime and i discovered a cool thing which I can use in designing my gods and goddesses for the sims 2. When the sims get in the zone, their motives decay really slowly and a really awesome glow surrounds them. I was wondering if I could find a hack that would let me into the zone whenever I want, even when I'm not engaging in an activity.

If not, then do you know of any cool glow effects I can use without changing the skintone because I've used real life celebs as my gods and goddesses.

If you could help me, I'd really appreciate it.

Thanks xx

Belladonna Cove Asylum: Meet the Patients

I don't usually advertise my simming things but thought to do that now because I think this way I'll be more motivated to keep on updating :) This is my first real challenge I've done and definitely the first time I've tried to do an Asylum/ISBI kind of a challenge, so please bear with me if I'm doing something wrong. I'm not funny and don't intend to be, but I hope you'll enjoy this first update anyway!

In which I know nothing about computers...

  • Dec. 5th, 2009 at 5:28 AM
I play the sims on my desktop, since my laptop can't handle it. Well, my desktop is pretty old, my dad had it built for me when the sims 2 base game came out. But the screen I've been using is a big huge CRT monitor. Well Wednesday was my birthday and I got some money as a gift from several people.

I found this monitor on Wal-Mart's website for a good price, and the store locator said my Wal-Mart had some in stock.

My old CRT monitor is a standard screen monitor. This is a widescreen. Can I play the game on this? Are there any changes I need to make to the settings?

And now for the REALLY dumb question: the Graphics card is built into the computer tower, not the monitor, right? So if I buy a new monitor will the graphics card I have be okay? Will my game still play with the same quality?

Thank you for any help, and for dealing with a stupid question!

Game glitchiness. What's up?

  • Dec. 4th, 2009 at 2:05 PM
Hey everyone, got a question that's got me stumped.

I have one neighborhood, all custom that I created. It's got at least 20 houses, 1 apartment building, and 3 places for shopping/hobbies/hanging out. There's about 25 different Sims on it.

Yes, I download ALOT of custom content. I try and use Delphy's download organizer, but I seem to miss things with it/or i'm failing horribly in using it in general. It takes about 10 minutes for my game to load. (not too bad, I know)

Trouble is, when I open up my neighborhood, it crashes right when it goes there, the music loops like crazy, and it freezes. No game. I get frustrated, not knowing -just- what the problem is. Any way I can tell if it's a CC house/lot? Clothes? Hair?

I started up a new neighborhood 2 nights ago, and it's got only 5 houses. Minimal town details, no shopping or cool stuff. The game loads just fine, and i'm able to play with no issues.

Any ideas on how to make my main town work, again? TIA for any help!

The Ancients Legacy 1.0

Photobucket

So after not posting anything on LiveJournal in like....Forever I've decided to post a new legacy. I needed a break from the Kaleidoscopes ( I'm sure many simmers have needed a change at some point) but there will be an update in a few....weeks? Anyways This Legacy started out as an ISBI but I realized just how hard it is and I decided that I should wait until I actually get a family to at least the 5th generation.

car glitch?

  • Dec. 3rd, 2009 at 8:40 PM
Hello, everyone ...

My problem is, everytime my sims get into a car to go out, whether to work, to community lot, or anywhere that requires a car, he and the car keep coming back to the lot, as if it want to pick my sims. But, my sims are already inside the car!

I don't have this problem before ... and I don't know what cause it. I do admit I downloaded a few clothes and decorative object yesterday, no hacks though.

Can someone help me?
